Many of these fads developed to forget the horrific memories of the war and some of these fads, such as flappers are still notorious today.

The 1920's was a time of great change and these are clearly shown by the fashions at this time. The fashion in the 1920s shifted away from the victorian era and was influenced by society around it. Fashion in the twenties was simple yet classic and is still known today. There are several different aspects of the fashion world that were key during this time period such as Women's, Men's, and Children's Clothing, Flappers, The Masculine Silhouette, Hair Styles, Makeup, Shoes and Undergarments. There were many great fashion designers of the period who set in motion the influential fashions and many icons who promoted all these new styles.

Fashions and fads of the "Roaring Twenties" were influenced economically, politically, and socially. Many iconic people of the twenties showed these changes. An example of one of those icons is F. Scott Fitzgerald and his notorious book The Great Gatsby.
